Members of GMCES are dedicated to continuing and building on the legacy of the GMC MotorHome as a recreational vehicle for the ages.If you're looking for a motorhome that offers timeless style and design, you can find it in the GMC. If you'd like an RV that is sized right; not too big and not too small, it's there in the GMC. If you want a boulevard-like riding and handling experience, the GMC has it. If you want a vehicle ready to be customized to fit your personality, a GMC is waiting somewhere for you. Or, if you're looking for friends who are also proud owners of these classic coaches, there are GMC owners anxious to meet you and share their experiences with you. Just like the vehicles we own, GMCES is many things to many people.

Early Information for
2009 Spring Rally
The site and date of the 2009 Spring Rally have been
determined. So, mark your calendar for the weekend of May
8 - 10 and your map for Owensboro, Kentucky. The site is
Diamond Lake Resort
just west of Owensboro. The rally will be the weekend
following the GMC Dixielanders’ annual Bean Station.
This will allow members of both clubs to make both
rallies if they desire. And, for those who like BBQ,
Owensboro’s International Bar-B-Q
Festival will be that same weekend.
Diamond Lake is a 157 acre resort with 270 campsites.
Eastern States members will be provided sites around the
Pavilion. All of the sites will offer 30 or 50 amp
electrical service, water and sewer, and concrete pads.
Some will be pull through lots and others suitable for
backing in. A few will even by next to the lake. And, to
accommodate those who won’t be traveling in their coach,
Diamond Lake has a small motel on site in addition to
three cottages.
The registration form and schedule will be made available
at a later time so be sure to watch this site or look for
your newsletter to register. Of course, those coming to
the rally will receive a special rate that will be
honored for arriving early or leaving late.

Stay in Touch through
Google Groups
At the recent GMCES meeting in Delaware, Ken Henderson
agreed to create a mailing list to facilitate
dissemination of information and announcements to the
membership. A secondary reason for creating an online
membership group is to provide a way for members to
exchange GMC MotorHome and GMCES-related information. For
several reasons, that task has been delayed until now.
Read more about the creation of the GMCES Google Group
and how to join at the Membership link.

November’s Article by
Member Jim Bounds in RV Adventure
Magazine
The latest issue of RV Adventure
Magazine has been posted online. This month’s
article by Jim, the owner of Cooperative Motor
Works in Orlando, is about vapor lock. Jim
presents the situation (symptoms) you may have noticed
and a suggested fix to the problem. This is Jim’s
fourth article for the online magazine.
“On a hot day, an engine is more prone to vapor lock with
a fuel that boils at a lower temperature. When this
occurs, the continuous flow of fuel to your motor is
interrupted by the escaping boiling bubbles. No mater how
powerful you motor is, it won't run well if it can't get
a constant supply of fuel ... we need to do something to
insulate our fuel delivery systems.” says Bounds.
The articles may be viewed online at RV Adventure
Magazine.
RV Adventure Magazine is a relatively new, online magazine. Thus far all back issues may be viewed online. A nice feature of the site is the provision to link to a printer-friendly version of each article. The magazine produces feature articles on a monthly basis covering a range of topics. There’s also a web gallery, online forum, links to several sites of general interest (many GMC clubs are represented), and an online store. Subscriptions, at present, are free of cost for the online magazine. The magazine is well written. The web site is attractively laid out and easily to navigated.

This beautifully restored coach is owned by Tom
Whitton of Paducah, Kentucky.
The interior is custom built and features an interesting
bath arrangement.
Tom’s coach has been seen at several rallies and always
